HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?

If you decide that you would like to commission a cartoon portrait, just send me an email at zookiecartoons@gmail.com. From there we can discuss your commission along with any further questions you may have.

WHAT DO YOU DRAW?

I accept commissions for any species of pets (from dogs and cats, to bearded dragons and parrots!) I also draw wild animals, anthropomorphic animals, fantasy or mythological creatures such as dragons and even animal based Fan Art of your favourite characters.

WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED?

If commissioning a pet caricature, please provide as much detail about your pet's personality as you can. This really helps me bring out their character in the creation of my work. Obviously good quality, full body photographs are vital and should include any distinguishing features your friend might have. For fan art and original character commissions, reference images are a must and again, please provide me with any background information you have about your chosen character.

DO YOU USE THE SAME POSE AS THE IMAGE PROVIDED?

If this is your preference, than yes - I certainly can*. Otherwise feel free to suggest any pose you would like. As a cartoonist I'm open to all sorts of wonderful ideas!

*For head only pet caricatures your cartoon will be drawn directly based on the reference image provided.

HOW DO YOU CREATE YOUR WORK?

I use digital software to create my art and everything you see is hand drawn using a Wacom tablet. Head icons/avatars are usually drawn in a single sitting, therefore drafts are not provided. For full body portraits I begin with an initial draft of your pet/character, which I will email to you for your approval. Once you're happy with the design I then proceed to add line art, shading and (where requested) colour. For all my illustrations I use a computer art programme called Clip Studio Paint.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PORTRAIT?

Your cartoon portrait will be emailed to you upon completion for your own personal use. You will normally receive the work as a jpeg file. If prints have been ordered these will be sent First Class via Royal Mail unless alternate postage is requested.  Please note that I do not offer a framing service.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR WORK

Prices vary depending on the work involved. The lowest prices I offer are for black and white head cartoons. For my current pricelist click here.  For an option not listed or if you require more information, please enquire via email at zookiecartoons@gmail.com. Payment should be made at the beginning of the project, on receipt of invoice via PayPal or bank transfer.

HOW LONG DOES A COMMISSION TAKE?

This depends on the complexity of the project, but I aim for a three week turnaround from starting the first draft. Please note that this does not include postage time for hard copy prints and is reliant on how quickly emails are responded to by the client. If there are likely to be any delays with your commission you will be informed as soon as possible.
